Experienced Mac users know that there are situations when they want to create a recording of their actions on the computer. For instance, some of them want to record an instructional video. Regardless of the reason, you should know that screen recording on a Mac is easy. There are actually two ways in which you can do this.
- Using pre-installed software
The first method involves preinstalled Mac software – QuickTime to be more precise. So, start the QuickTime Player. The program is found in the Applications folder. Next, start a recording session by using the File menu on the Player. This is where you will find the New Screen Recording option.
After that, you should click the red dot located in the center of the Screen Recording box. What’s great is that QuickTime Player allows users to choose the dimensions of any recording. Don’t forget that every recording requires some space/memory.
The recording will start after a few seconds. Once you notice that the timer has started, keep doing what you were supposed to record. When you are done, click the stop button. Look for the recording in the Movies folder.
- Using third-party software
We will take Jing as an example because this software is easy to use and free to download. Jing has almost every feature that QuickTime Player has and a few more. Besides capturing videos, it can also capture images. This software has intuitive buttons and simple interface which makes it great for both beginners and experienced Mac users.
